Older Fathers = higher risk for kids?

In this age of older and older parenting, this article from UK's Telegraph caught my eye. Any thoughts on this?
Here's a snip-it:
"A mass study found that deaths of children fathered by over-45s occurred at
almost twice the rate of those fathered by men aged between 25 and 30.
Scientists believe that children of older fathers are more likely to suffer
particular congenital defects as well as autism, schizophrenia and epilepsy.
The study was the first of its kind of such magnitude in the West, and
researchers believe the findings are linked to the declining quality of
sperm as men age.
A total of 100,000 children born between 1980 and 1996 were examined, of whom
830 have so far died before they reached 18, the majority when they were
less than a year old."

Male Biological Clock
It has been noticed and research since before 1950 that there is a male biological clock for the health, mental and physical, of the offspring. The new mutations which accumulate in sperm from its many divisions from precursor cells and exposure to toxins explain much autoimmune disorder, new cancers, non-familial autism and schizophrenia, non-familial Alzheimer's, etc. etc. Please keep writing about the male biological clock. I have collected plenty of information on disorders and sperm studies. http://how-old-is-too-old.blogspot.com/ http://themalebiologicalclock.blogspot.com/ The collections are redundant. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paternal_age_effect http://www.schizophreniaforum.org/for/curr/Malaspina/default.asp
