I agree with Tim. Global warming and all the ways we are screwing up this world will be the biggest issue. This all relates, in many ways, to the global economy. The rain forests in South America wouldn't be being torn down if it wasn't profitable.

I will agree with you that energy and global warming will shape our future, but I doubt we agree on how this will happen.
The entire debate on global warming is built upon nonsense and incomplete data, yet we're racing headlong into changing the way we do everything that involves power.
10 years ago, could you have ever imagined we'd BURN food for fuel? And not even do it economically?
We need to stop this hysteria NOW before we irreparably damage our kids' future. Case in point: the unscientific poll on this site shows China's economy is the biggest threat to us. Tell me: do you really think China gives a damn about global warming?

I think that new technologies and innovations will help our children more than the other choices will hurt them. Hopefully, there will be innovation in energy and healthcare, so that global warming and rising health care crises can be averted. . . Maybe I'm just an optimist. . .
Now that I think about it, the most important issue facing the next generation will be energy and global warming. How we as parents respond in the next few decades will set the course my kids will travel when they have families of their own.
Global Warming

It is energy policy
