As I was waiting in line today to get my haircut, I noticed my to-be-hairdresser interacting with a pre-teen/teen boy getting his hair chopped. I thought to myself, this woman has got to have kids. When it was my turn to "sit in the chair" I asked her straight-up if she did. Of course, she did. But, then I found myself thinking that I wouldn't have known that if I didn't have my own kid (and another on the way). How strange (but awesome) that we pick up on these subtlties being dads. I enjoy being in an airport, train, restaurant, etc. and being touched with compassion for these little ones - and the parents when they're tantruming.
Dad-hood changes you
