Some good websites for Chicago parents

tony's picture

Being here in Glenview and researching a ton of stuff about kids, I thought I'd start a running list of good websites & resources for Chicago dads. Feel free to comment on other helpful sites you've seen...

Chicagodads.com - a group of stay-at-home dads talk chicago and fatherhood. meet ups on Thursdays. Lots of other conversations.

DancingMeatballs.com - a new website that shares ideas for fun/affordable family outings

ChicagoMoms Blog - 30 chicago-based mom blog about everything from chicago events to have a girl crush on Tina Fey. i.e. enter at your own risk=)

ChicagoKids.com - similar to Dancing Meatballs, this site features lots of good kid-friendly events. Plus, some printable discounts.

ChicagoParent.com - this is probably "the" parenting weekly newspaper for Chicago-based parents. They've got a pretty active forum area, though not surprisingly, you won't find nearly as many dads as moms.

Chicago Public Schools - as a guy, I love see the hard stats - check out CPS school's scorecards (e.g. ACT scores, % graduation, AP class enrollment, etc) and more.

OakParkDad - An Oak Park Dad blogs about family in Oak Park. Posts a few times/month

where else do you chicago dads love to go online?
