My wife and I don't know what we're having (today is our due date, so the wait might not last too much longer), so we have names for both a boy and a girl.
For a boy we chose Alexander (Defender of Human Kind), my middle name, and Nicholas (Victory of the People), my late grand father's name.
For a girl the choices are Sophia (Knowledge), a favorite of both my wife and myself, and Alicia (Truth), my sister's name.
I'd go for the second option for two main reasons, Grant is a grant name and Daniel is your own middle name and I wouldn't miss the opportunity of sharing my own name with my son.
Names with a meaning
I personally like "ancient" names.

Just my two cents.
Best luck!
