The importance of gaze

Drtrey3's picture

The first way that newborns and infants know anything about themselves is their perception of the emotion in their parents' faces. I think that this continues for years and years, that our children are sensitive to and hungry for our gaze. They want and need to be noticed and live and die by our expression.

Loving, accepting gaze is a blessing, and it sets the foundation for self-acceptance and self-image.
