Re: Ideas for Activities with Your Kids

Well today, I wanted to find something different for the girls to do. It's a lazy Sunday, but the girls are always full of energy. So jumped on "the Google" (he he) and found a pretty cool idea. An article posted showed that little kids LOVED Easter eggs hunts, but since it is not Easter a good substitute is a Treasure Hunt. My girls are 3 and 5 so I skipped making a treasure map of the backyard. I went to my penny jar and hid pennies and an occasional nickel or dime ALL over the backyard. They were so excited that they were squealing and laughing the whole time. I hid around $1.50 worth of change and it took them about 30 mins to find it all. What ever they found they could keep for their piggy pants. It was such a hit that I found myself hiding another $2.00 worth of pennies and the girls went hunting again. So I guess $3.50 for around 1.5 hours of fun is not bad. Especially when all I had to do was sit on the patio and enjoy a cold beer while the kids were treasure hunting. Cheaper than a gallon of gas to drive them to Chuck E. Cheese.
